Missing star figures like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the London club departed Dublin with a comfortable win that virtually secures them a place in the Conference League qualifying rounds.
Another victory in their upcoming match against Finland's KuPS ought to be sufficient to secure straight entry to the last 16, especially following a previous setback against Strasbourg.
Fringe Players Seize the Moment
This match offered a platform for some of Palace's fringe players to impress. Christantus Uche, making only his second beginning after joining on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a well-taken goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah contributed a second, scoring for the second game in match.
The Shelbourne team that had concluded their domestic season were no match against a mostly second-string Palace lineup. The visitors were already depleted by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are out with leg injuries.

The match was effectively over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past some weak challenges before calmly dispatching a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.
Following the break, coach Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to rest key players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse came close to scoring with his first touch, only to see his shot blocked.
The youngster was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one attempt strike off each posts before being gathered on the line. Uche then blazed a sitter of a chance, showing there is still scope for development in his game.
The only concern for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This allowed 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to make his first-team debut, capping an otherwise perfect night for the traveling side.
