Assassin's Creed Reveals Surprising Attack on Titan Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre partnership that breaks conventional predictions, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing free extra story content for Shadows players.
Strange Questline Revealed
According to the authorized announcement, "A mysterious encounter draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new mission, where hints of banned rituals and terrifying transformations echo through the darkness." The plot features a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a hidden sect.
The adventure centers on "bizarre experiments and a fearsome adversary" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Familiar Places and Metamorphoses
The trailer features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer ends with a striking scene showing a character, presumably the captive, changing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Items and Additional Features
Players who accomplish the adventure will acquire an exclusive katana together with several artifacts concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-themed outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Unique arms
- Survey Corps steed
Third Free Story Addition
This update also adds the game's third free story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature techniques: Naoe reveals a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also includes a original environmental puzzle that may finally explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

The series earlier featured a 2020 collaborative story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
